Peanut in the School Parade

Peanut was the leader of the Fall Parade at school on Friday. He was thrilled. He was waving and telling everyone Happy Halloween as he went by. He has been having a pretty tough time at school lately and so it is nice to see that he can have a smile on his face and feel special.

The New Addition...

We are getting a new addition to our family! It's a PUPPY!!! She is a Shih Tzu and her name is Maya. She will be joining our family at Christmas time. Some may say we are crazy and we probably are!
Not the best picture but you get the idea.

Rock Band is Awesome!!!

Our friends came over the other night to hang out. We had a great dinner and after we ate, we decided to play Rock Band. The boys went and got all of the istruments and we started to play. It is SOOOOO fun. Even the kiddos got involved! Thanks Jeff and Mindy for coming over and having a good time being silly with us! Most fun we've had in awhile.

Is she just SOOOOO cute???? My boys say that she is their new best friend. Love it!

(P.S. We now own Rock Band! We got a smokin' deal on it and it is really fun!

I know, some of you will laugh but I don't care. Video games are FUN!)

The MOST FUN FIND EVER!!!

This purchase deserves a post all to itself because it is so exciting! I went to a sale and there were these beautiful old books in a box hidden under lots of other things. I picked them up and looked closely... they were Hardy Boys books! They were original books from 1944. I asked the woman how much and she said she wanted $2 each. I just couldn't pay that. She asked me how much I would pay and I told her $.50 each. She said $1 each. I finally talked her down to $7 for all 9 books (two were newer and not pictured here). I was in love! I brought them home excited to put them on a shelf and enjoy their beauty. I got curious to see how much something like this was actually worth. It had to be worth something. I checked around and I only found one book for sale and it was on Ebay. It was going for $26.50 and the price was rising. WHAT!?!?! But I cannot sell. I now love them more knowing that I made an awesome deal and they are BEAUTIFUL!

The Treasure Hunt Continues...

These are all the fun finds from the Community Sale we went to last weekend. We had a really good time and found some amazing deals. I am in love with the things that I found for sure!!!

A super cute pumpkin for $.25

Another Nancy Drew book for $.50

A few more Hardy Boys books to add to the collection.
Gotta love it! Paid $1.50 for all three.

Spencer had brought home a "real" Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree from school that his teacher let him take home for the weekend. He was so excited to tell us the story with the tree... then he couldn't remember the story. I was talking in the car to my friends about it and one of them said I could borrow hers so we could read it over the weekend. We got out at the next yard sale and TADA! It was $.10! I love it when that happens!

These were a bonus at the same sale and I got them both for $.15

Another book for $.10

Awesome to add to my collection. Paid $1. Do you see a trend here?

Tole Painting books are amazing and especially older ones. I got these for $1.50

Another duck for the collection. $3

Gotta love the Gold Canyon candles. It was $.25

LOVING LOVING LOVING THIS!!! I have been looking for a great mirror to hang in my bathroom and I finally found it. I took off the ugly 70's glued on the wall mirror and replaced it with this one. It is awesome! (Pictures to follow soon) It was $12 as you can see from the tag and it probably weighs 20 pounds. Awesome!!!

LOVE IT!

Excited about this TOO!!! I have looked at these shelving units many times and Pottery Barn has a great one but it was $250. Who spends that kind of money on something like that? I got mine for $10. Now I just need to find some cute items to fill it with.

Another Gooseberry Patch book for the collection.
It was a fun afternoon read. It was $2
Total for the week: $31.25

Sometimes you just need a nap...

On Saturday afternoon I cam down the hall to this:

He had fallen asleep in the middle of the hallway. I don't know how this happened or what made him think this was a good place to sleep but we left him there and he slept for about an hour. He was well rested for the night ahead.

Halloween FUN...

Our fun friends had a Halloween Party that we wer lucky enough to be a part of on Saturday. The kiddos even got to come which was mostly fun... well... at least Peanut had a good time. J Bear did not but we'll get to that in a minute.
Matt and his friends dressed up to match. Can you guess who they are?
It's the Beastie Boys!!! (If you watch the music video Sabotage, you will get it)

This is Peanut's pumpkin. He did such a great job. I helped him a little but he did most of the work himself. He wouldn't take the "guts" out of the pumpkin though. Must have a phobia about that or something.

And this is J Bear. If you haven't noticed already, he has no clothes on. He threw a fit because no one would take his picture at that very second. He stripped down to his underwear and sat in the corner in protest. I think we are starting to experience the terrible 3-almost-4's.

At one time however, he was dressed up as Luke Skywalker. Grammy was having a fun time with the kiddos too.

And here we are... the 70's cop and the Hippie. It was fun to get the costumes put together without spending too much money. I spent a couple of days going to several of the Goodwill's that are around here as well as Savers and JoAnn's.

And Papa came as a biker. Stick 'um up!

And here is Peanut as the Skeleton. His obsession continues.

He sure is a cute skeleton though.
