Yard Sale Finds...

Okay, so I haven't posted about my finds in a couple weeks so here I am to catch you up!

Last weekend my brother came over to go yard sale-ing with me in hopes of finding some camping gear and or fishing gear. We were totally unsuccessful. All I bought were these:

They were only $3. Okay... that was a smokin' deal!
So my friend Mindy suggested that we go to the Antique Mall. I haven't been to an antique store in FOREVER. So we went and got some breakfast at Denny's (thanks d-dawg for the fried egg sandwich and OJ) and headed to the Antique Mall. Oh my goodness! We had a blast. Hanging out with my brother is pretty fun and we spent 2 1/2 hours in there walking around and looking at EVERYTHING! This is what we found:

I got one of the quart sized and the pint sized one for just under $10. The other one (without a lid) I found at a sale with 35 other regular quart jars for $6, 2 weekends ago.

Danny bought this sickle so that he could do a really cool shadow box with all of the tags from all of his missionary companions and his mission president as well as his and the scripture in D&C about "the field is ripe, ready to harvest". I think he paid just under $12 for it. What a deal.

We laughed at all of the things that our mom used to have, our grandma's used to have and all of the things that people collect that are just weird. I will have to go there and walk around more often.

I almost forgot... a couple weekends ago I also got this:

to go with these that I already had, and I only paid $2 for it!
Now for today... it started out pretty slow and to be honest, most of the sales we went to were really sad and not to many things to look at. We found 5 pair of nice Gap jean shorts for Peanut for school for $.25 each. That was awesome. And some more swimming suits for $.25 each. We go through them so fast at our house because they wear them almost every day in the pool. But the finds of the day were these:

A butcher block for my kitchen for $15. It was on wheels but I took them off. I could just see my kiddos riding around the house on it like a scooter or something. What a great find. We have been talking about getting one for awhile and this will make food prep so much easier!

A tent for the kids when we go camping. I put it up to make sure it worked good and washed it off with the hose so it will be clean for our next trip. Oh, and it was $3. You just can't beat that anywhere.

My friend Ashley has been looking for small globes to put on her mantle for a display and told me if I ever saw any, to pick them up. Well, I found one today for $.10. I dropped it off to her today on my way home. Can't wait to see how it fits into her display.

Hope you liked what I got... I sure did!

Baseball Memories

I for one LOVE baseball! I have always thought that it was the most fun sport to watch. What other activity do you know where it is okay to eat hotdogs, peanuts, popcorn, drink lots of soda and scream at the top of your lungs for hours (as you can tell, I am not a quiet fan)? Anyway... so Hunny got some AWESOME tickets to the D-Backs game from work and I was pretty excited to go, then realized that was Grandma and Grandpa's weekend to have the boys come play and I had other things going on that I just couldn't miss out on. So we gave Grandma and Grandpa the tickets and let them take the kiddos. They had a great time and got spoiled as usual. Here are the pictures that they took while they were there. (Thanks Grandma for taking the pics and sending them over!)

Favorite Yard Sale Find

I am going to be doing a new post about my favorite find of the week. I go yard sale-ing sometimes on the weekend and I get some pretty fun stuff. So now when I get some fun things, you can share in my excitement.

So I have been looking for some antique canning jars to hold my button collection in my sewing room. I was looking for the blue ones with the old zinc lids on them. I really wanted 2 matching quart sized jars. I looked on ebay figuring I could find a good deal. Holy Cow! They are so expensive. They were way out of my price range so I decided to use a couple of new ones that I had in my cupboard. So I am out on Saturday and what did I find? The cutest little jar and the bonus was that it was $1! Not exactly what I was looking for but still cute and did I mention that it was only $1! The find of the week for me!
