Kids do the Darndest things...

I go into the kiddos bedroom the other night to check on them before I go to bed and I can't find J Bear anywhere! I am looking and looking, I go check in his playroom, in my bedroom, I go in and ask Matt and he hasn't seen him... then I turn on the hall light and I look into the bedroom to see this:

I don't know how he got under there or how he could possibly fall asleep like that but he did. I had to pull out the bench with him in it to get him out. He was so wedged in that I had to have Matt help me get him out. Silly kid!

Simplifying 2010 began with...

The LAUNDRY ROOM!!

I have often wished that I could have a room that was specifically dedicated to CRAFTING. However, I am not lucky enough to have a room big enough to store all of the craft supplies that I have accumulated. So in order to make things more SIMPLE I decided to remove all "craft" supplies from the laundry room and make it exclusively a sewing/laundry room. I spent a small amount of money on some storage bins and turned this room into my sewing heaven.

The bins you see on the counter on the right side of the picture are to hold my "works in progress" so that there is no need to completely put them away, yet they are contained and not all over the counter. Love that!

I went to the Antique Mall and found a couple more blue glass jars to house the rest of my button collection. Now they are organized by color and size to make it easier to find what I am looking for. I can't ever say no to a good button.

This is my favorite part... the fabric cupboard. Doesn't this just make you want to sew something? It does to me. All of my fabric is organized by color which makes finding just the right material so much easier. I have several projects waiting for me in those bins. Can't wait to get to them!

(All of my other craft supplies got moved to clear plastic boxes in my office on some wall shelves.

They are now also more organized and easier to see. They will get used more often there, I hope!)

Christmas Morning 2009

This was what our tree looked like on Christmas morning. I always love how Santa sets everything up. He labels everything to make it easier for each kid to find his stuff in the morning. Thanks Santa!

Here is J Bear with some new jammies from Aunt Erin and Uncle Bear. Their faces were priceless.

Peanut was SOOOO excited about his green Bionicle. He loves both the color green and lego's more than almost anything in the world. J Bear picked that one out for him.

This was me opening up my presents. I got some really great things but my favorite thing was the orbital sander that Matt got me. It is AWESOME!!!


Matt opening his gifts. This present was a SuperHero shirt that the boys got him. We are crazy for SuperHero's at our house. Jared picked this one out too. He was a great shopper this year. He knew just what everyone would like.

My favorite memory of the whole day will be how well the boys sat and opened each and every one of their gifts. In years past it has been a chaotic mess. We all sat and watched as everyone opened their presents. The boys had baskets to put their toys in after they opened them. They spent the whole day making a mess and playing with their toys. It was the best Christmas I have EVER had with my little family.

Christmas Lights 2009

This year we went to the Mesa Temple lights with the Hunt Family clan. We had so much fun listening to some great music and taking our kiddos around to see the lights.

I wish I had a picture of Peanut pushing Grace in the stroller and crashing into Matt. They tried to crash into him most of the way around the temple and laughed harder than any 2 kiddos I have ever heard. It was more fun to watch those two than it was to look at the lights.

Ant this would be my RockStar. Every time he hears music he pretends to play the guitar and dance. Maybe someday he will be famous. Who knows! Gotta love it!

Big Mistake... HUGE!!!

Over the Christmas holiday we were lucky enough to be able to take care of our sweet Maya's (the new puppy) brother and sister. Their names are Phillip and Penny and they belong to this family. The three puppies were really cute together. However, only a few hours having them running in circles around my house barking and chasing eachother I knew that 10 days of this would make me crazy. I needed to come up with a quick solution. The solution became letting them play outside with one another until they were so tired that they all collapsed into one large fluff ball under my kitchen table. There was only one problem with this... they got FILTHY!

I couldn't let them come into the rest of my house without a bath and so I got the brilliant idea that I would put all three of them into the bathtub. Surely they couldn't climb out. They were afterall only tiny puppies. What was I thinking????

I wish I would have taken a picture of my clothes and the bathroom floor. I think I was wetter than if I had myself climbed into the bathtub. My bathroom floor was covered in soap and water from all of the times that the puppies JUMPED out of the tub. Two hands and three puppies made at least one of them free to climb out at any one time. Never again will I bathe 3 puppies by myself again! Sure was funny though!
