Family Pictures

I Loved It!

I went last night, just like almost every other Twilight fan in the valley, to go see themovie. Oh my goodness, it brought to life everything that I imagined. Never have I read a book that I was so excited to see the movie about. But it lived up to all of the expectations I had. Granted, I didn't have high expectations because I was so afraid that I would be disappointed. I had these vivid images in my mind how certain parts of the movie should look and I was grateful to be pleasantly surprised. My favorite part, for anyone who has read the first book, was when Edward took Bella to the meadow to let her see his skin sparkle. That part in the movie was just how I had invisioned it to be and I was very happy. The other part I really liked was the baseball game scene. I thought it was very well done. And I appreciated the cleanliness of the movie. It was something that I would let my children watch. Aside from the violence at the end, there was no swearing or nudity or any of the things you try to stear your children away from.

Now, having said all of that, I do have a couple of small things that I wasn't fond of. One of them was Eric's character. I did not see him like that in my mind. And I wasn't crazy about the way he was portrayed in the movie. I also wasn't crazy about the person that they cast for Esme because I saw her different in my mind. Not that the actress didn't play her well, because I think she did, I just didn't invision her that way. I pictured her very small and almost frail looking.

Anyway... enough on my soapbox of the movie. I really liked it and would recomend it. Tell me what you thought... I'd be interested to hear.

Being Sick STINKS

Can I just tell you how much being sick STINKS! I think I have been under the weather off and on for the last month and I just really don't like it. I have spent several days in bed over the last month which is just no fun at all. I know that there are just those days where you don't want to do anything but the days when you physically CAN'T do anything is just so not fun. I am a pretty active, project oriented mom and I always have something going. This last month I have hardly accomplished anything. I am hoping that in the next few days if I really take it easy even though I am starting to feel better that the sickness will be gone so I can get back to my life. Anyone have any ideas to getting better fast? I could sure use them!

My AH HA Moment

Every year, about this time as the weather starts to cool down I get so excited, anticipating the holiday season. It used to be that all of the hustle and bustle of the season made it hard to remember what this time of year is about. However, a few years ago I decided that I was no longer going to let that happen. I try really hard to center this time of year around My Savior and remember all that he has done for me.

Just in the last week I have had a couple quiet, what I like to call "AH HA!" moments where the Spirit has confirmed how special this time of year is to me. The other day I was walking in the grocery store (I know, kind of a strange place to have an AH HA! moment...) and they had out all of their Christmas decorations and it was the first time this season that I realized that I get to fully immerse myself in the life of My Savior! Everywhere you turn there are constant reminders of the season and what a special time of year. And now I can look past all of the silly decorations and lavish gifts and truly see My Savior in all of that. What a blessing.

My second AH HA! moment was tonight. I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep and I just couldn't. Then I remembered one of my favorite movies and I just couldn't resist. It was The Forgotten Carols. If you have never had the opportunity to watch it live or even see it on video, I encourage you to do so. I laid in bed and cried as I watched this wonderful movie. The first time I saw it, it truly changed my perspective on Christmas and all that it means. I put the soundtrack in my car in November and it doesn't leave my car until about February. What a great reminder of what we should be thinking about every day of our lives.

I know it's kind of early but I hope you all have your AH HA! moment this year so you can reflect on all that Our Savior has done for us!

Pumpkin Carving and a Classic Movie

Here is our first attempt at carving pumpkins with the kids. What a fun time. They sure did not like how messy the insides were and neither one wanted to take the "guts" out.

We also watched The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown that day so J Bear was completely worried that we were "killing" the pumpkin. And while watching the movie Peanut thought Linus was him (as some of you might know, Peanut sucks his thumb and carries a blanket just like Linus). What a classic movie!

Halloween Costumes...My little Superhero's!

Sorry it took so long to post but our lives have just been crazy lately. We really enjoyed Halloween this year. The boys could not decide what they were going to be so they kept changing costumes as you can see from the pictures. However, it was a good time nonetheless. Hope you all had a great Halloween!
