Today was Peanut's first day of school! YEAH!!!! He has been looking forward to this day all summer. So have I... or so I thought. Yesterday this happened:

It actually looks worse than the picture makes it out to look. The flash made the black on his toe not look as black. He dropped a wall plaque on his toe (fell out of a cupboard that he wasn't supposed to be playing in) and it immediately turned black and blue. He cried most of yesterday and could hardly walk. We could tell it was not broken but he was still in a lot of pain. I was worried about what we were going to do for his first day of school. How was he going to get a shoe on to go to school if he couldn't even walk? So this morning we tried every pair of shoes in his cupboard but couldn't get any of them on. Then I remembered that I had bigger shoes in the closet. So I got out his size 13 shoes (he only wears a 10) and carefully slid his foot in. He still could hardly walk but at least he had shoes on. Then we were ready for school.

He was still way excited...

Then I realized that I forgot his name tag!!!! So I ran home to get his name tag and when I got back everyone was lining up to go to their classes and Peanut was LOST!!! I couldn't see him anywhere and because he didn't have his name tag on, no one knew where he was supposed to be. I finally found him lining up with an older class and scurried him off to the right class. I didn't have time to be sad that he was leaving or anything. But when I got in the car I was a little teary. I thought about him all day and hoped that he was doing good. I tried not to worry but I couldn't help it! But I made it and apparently so did he because he came home and said his day was GREAT! Something about a racoon and footprints and leaving a note in his class. Sounds like a full day to me!
