Gingerbread Houses 2009

We went over last Sunday to my Mom and Dad's and made Gingerbread Houses as a family. After lots of frosting, candy, graham crackers, boxes for building, wooden dowels for structural support and JB Weld... yes, I said JB Weld, we ended up with this:

Some were bigger than others (thanks to the JB Weld), some included out-houses, some had porches, and some had been in a blizzard. All were fun to make and what a great memory to hold in our hearts.
We also had my Dad get out his guitar and play some Christmas songs that we could sing along with. As a kid, it was a treat to have my Dad get out his guitar and play for us. What great memories that brought back for me. I even started to tear up as we were singing, watching my kids sing and know that this was yet another generation of memories that we were building. What a great night. Thanks Mom and Dad for helping us build traditions and memories for us and our kids!
